Creating Templates

Templates let you create reusable note structures. Perfect for daily journals, meeting notes, weekly reviews, or any recurring note format.

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon)
  2. Select the Templates tab

Templates are workspace-specific. Each workspace has its own set of templates.

  1. In the Templates tab, click Create Template
  2. Enter a Template Name (e.g., “Daily Journal”, “Meeting Notes”)
  3. Write your template content using the rich text editor
  4. Click Save

Templates support the same rich text formatting as regular notes:

  • Headings
  • Lists (bullet, numbered, checkbox)
  • Bold, italic, underline
  • Code blocks
  • Block quotes
  • Tables
  • Horizontal rules
  1. Go to Settings > Templates
  2. Click Edit next to the template
  3. Modify the name or content
  4. Click Save
  1. Go to Settings > Templates
  2. Click Delete next to the template
  3. Confirm deletion

There are two ways to use templates:

  1. Press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + K to open the command palette
  2. Type “template” or the template name
  3. Select New from Template: [Template Name]
  4. A new note is created with the template content

Set a template as the default for daily or weekly notes. See Calendar Defaults for details.

Create templates for different contexts:

  • Daily Journal - Morning reflection, tasks, evening review
  • Meeting Notes - Attendees, agenda, action items
  • Weekly Review - Accomplishments, learnings, next week goals
  • Project Kickoff - Goals, stakeholders, timeline
