Sidvy’s search helps you find any note based on its content, title, or tags.
Opening Search
Section titled “Opening Search”- Click the search icon in the sidebar, or
- Press
Cmd/Ctrl + Kand type your query
Search Basics
Section titled “Search Basics”What’s Searched
Section titled “What’s Searched”Search looks through:
- Note titles
- Note content
- Tags
Search as You Type
Section titled “Search as You Type”Results update instantly as you type. No need to press Enter.
Result Ranking
Section titled “Result Ranking”Results are ranked by relevance:
- Exact title matches
- Title contains query
- Content matches
Search Syntax
Section titled “Search Syntax”Basic Query
Section titled “Basic Query”Just type words:
meeting notesFinds notes containing both “meeting” and “notes”.
Tag Search
Section titled “Tag Search”Prefix with # to search tags:
#productivityFinds notes tagged with #productivity.
Combining Searches
Section titled “Combining Searches”Mix content and tag searches:
project plan #workFinds notes containing “project” and “plan” with the #work tag.
Search Results
Section titled “Search Results”Result Display
Section titled “Result Display”Each result shows:
- Note title
- Note icon (if set)
- Preview snippet with highlighted matches
- Parent group (if any)
Opening Results
Section titled “Opening Results”- Click - Opens the note, replacing current view
- Cmd/Ctrl + Click - Opens in new tab
Workspace Scope
Section titled “Workspace Scope”Search only finds notes in the current workspace. Switch workspaces to search elsewhere.
Use Unique Terms
Section titled “Use Unique Terms”Search for distinctive words rather than common ones:

Section titled “Find Recent Additions”If you remember adding something recently but not where, search for distinctive terms you used.
Tag Discovery
Section titled “Tag Discovery”Search # alone to see all tags in use, then refine your search.
Combine with Wiki Links
Section titled “Combine with Wiki Links”Found what you’re looking for? Create a wiki link to it from your current note so you can find it easily next time.
