Workspaces

Workspaces are the highest level of organization in Sidvy. Each workspace is a completely separate collection of notes, groups, and todos.

Think of workspaces as separate notebooks:

  • Work - Professional projects, meeting notes, documentation
  • Personal - Journal, recipes, travel plans
  • Side Project - Code notes, research, ideas

Notes in one workspace are completely isolated from another. Wiki links only work within the same workspace.

  1. Click the workspace selector in the sidebar header
  2. Click New Workspace
  3. Enter a name
  4. Click Create

Click the workspace name in the sidebar header to see all your workspaces. Click any workspace to switch to it.

Each workspace has its own settings:

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon)
  2. Select the Workspace tab
  3. Configure:
    • Workspace name
    • Default settings for new notes
  1. Open a note’s context menu in the sidebar
  2. Select Move to workspace…
  3. Choose the destination workspace
  1. Go to Settings > Workspace
  2. Scroll to Danger Zone
  3. Click Delete Workspace
  4. Confirm the deletion

Each workspace tracks its own storage usage:

  • See current usage in Settings > Workspace
  • Storage limits apply across all workspaces combined

Don’t create too many workspaces. A few well-organized workspaces are better than many fragmented ones.

For finer organization within a workspace, use groups (folders) rather than creating more workspaces.

Since wiki links only work within a workspace, keep related notes that should link together in the same workspace.
