Snapshots
Sidvy automatically saves snapshots of your notes, creating a version history you can browse and restore from.
How Snapshots Work
Section titled “How Snapshots Work”Sidvy periodically saves a snapshot of each note, capturing its content at that moment. This happens automatically—no action required.
Viewing Snapshots
Section titled “Viewing Snapshots”- Open a note
- Click the History icon in the toolbar (clock icon)
- See a list of available snapshots
Each snapshot shows:
- Date and time created
- Relative time (e.g., “2 hours ago”)
Snapshot Contents
Section titled “Snapshot Contents”A snapshot captures:
- Full note content at that moment
- Timestamp of when it was taken
Restoring from a Snapshot
Section titled “Restoring from a Snapshot”- Open the snapshot list
- Click the snapshot you want to view
- Review the content in the diff viewer
- Click Restore to replace current content
Use Cases

Don’t Rely Solely on Snapshots
Section titled “Don’t Rely Solely on Snapshots”Snapshots are automatic and limited. For critical content, also:
- Export important notes manually
- Keep separate backups
