Snapshots

Sidvy automatically saves snapshots of your notes, creating a version history you can browse and restore from.

Sidvy periodically saves a snapshot of each note, capturing its content at that moment. This happens automatically—no action required.

  1. Open a note
  2. Click the History icon in the toolbar (clock icon)
  3. See a list of available snapshots

Each snapshot shows:

  • Date and time created
  • Relative time (e.g., “2 hours ago”)

A snapshot captures:

  • Full note content at that moment
  • Timestamp of when it was taken
  1. Open the snapshot list
  2. Click the snapshot you want to view
  3. Review the content in the diff viewer
  4. Click Restore to replace current content

Deleted important content? Restore from a snapshot.

Took your writing in the wrong direction? Go back to an earlier version.

See how a note evolved over time using the diff viewer.

Made breaking changes to a document? Snapshots provide a safety net.

Snapshots are automatic and limited. For critical content, also:

  • Export important notes manually
  • Keep separate backups
