Diff Viewer
The diff viewer lets you compare different versions of a note side by side, highlighting what changed.
Opening the Diff Viewer
Section titled “Opening the Diff Viewer”- Open a note
- Click the History icon
- Select a snapshot to compare
- The diff viewer opens automatically
Understanding the Diff
Section titled “Understanding the Diff”Color Coding

View Modes
Section titled “View Modes”Side by Side
Section titled “Side by Side”Shows the old version on the left, current on the right. Changes are highlighted in both.
Inline
Section titled “Inline”Shows a single view with additions and deletions marked inline. Removed text appears struck through in red, added text appears in green.
Navigating Changes
Section titled “Navigating Changes”Actions from Diff Viewer
Section titled “Actions from Diff Viewer”Restore This Version
Section titled “Restore This Version”Click Restore to replace the current note with the selected snapshot version.
Cancel
Section titled “Cancel”Click Cancel or press Escape to close without changes.
Select Different Snapshot
Section titled “Select Different Snapshot”Use the dropdown to select a different snapshot for comparison.
Comparing Two Snapshots
Section titled “Comparing Two Snapshots”To compare two historical versions (not current):
- Open the snapshot list
- Select the first snapshot
- Use the “Compare with…” option
- Select the second snapshot
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”Review What Changed
Section titled “Review What Changed”Before a meeting, review what you added since the last version.
Understand Evolution
Section titled “Understand Evolution”See how a document developed over time by stepping through snapshots.
Quality Check
Section titled “Quality Check”Compare current version to an earlier known-good state.
Find Lost Content
Section titled “Find Lost Content”If something disappeared, use diff to find where it was removed.
Large Changes
Section titled “Large Changes”For notes with many changes, use the navigation buttons rather than scrolling.
Context
Section titled “Context”The diff shows surrounding context so you can understand where changes occurred.
Whitespace
Section titled “Whitespace”Some diffs may show whitespace changes (extra spaces, line breaks). These are usually not significant.
