Trash & Recovery

Deleted notes go to Trash where they’re kept for 30 days before permanent deletion.

When you delete a note:

  1. It’s moved to Trash (not permanently deleted)
  2. It stays in Trash for 30 days (configurable)
  3. After 30 days, it’s permanently deleted
  4. You can restore any time before permanent deletion
  1. Open the note’s context menu
  2. Select Delete
  3. Note moves to Trash
  1. Open the note
  2. Click the menu
  3. Select Delete
  1. Click the Trash icon in the sidebar, or
  2. Go to Settings > Trash

The Trash shows:

  • Note name
  • Original location (group)
  • Date deleted
  • Days until permanent deletion
  1. Open Trash
  2. Find the note
  3. Click Restore

The note returns to its original location (or workspace root if the group was deleted).

  1. Open Trash
  2. Select notes (checkboxes)
  3. Click Restore Selected
  1. Open Trash
  2. Find the note
  3. Click Delete Forever
  4. Confirm
  1. Open Trash
  2. Click Empty Trash
  3. Confirm

Change how long deleted notes are kept:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Find Trash Settings
  3. Set Auto-delete after (1-90 days, or never)

Set the period to “Never” to keep deleted notes indefinitely (until manually removed).

Notes in Trash still count toward your storage quota. Emptying Trash frees up space.

  • Notes: Yes, go to Trash
  • Groups: Deleted immediately (but notes inside move to Trash)
  • Todos: Removed with their parent note

Review Trash contents before emptying. This is your last chance to recover.

If you’re running low on storage, check Trash for notes you can permanently delete.

Deleted something by mistake? Check Trash immediately—it’s there waiting.
