Public Notes

Share individual notes publicly so anyone with the link can view them.

  1. Open the note you want to share
  2. Click the Share button in the toolbar
  3. Toggle Public sharing on
  4. Copy the generated link

Anyone with this link can view the note (read-only).

Share links look like:

https://sidvy.com/p/abc123xyz

The random token (abc123xyz) makes the link unguessable.

When you share a note:

  • Included: Note content, formatting, images
  • Not included: Your identity, other notes, wiki link targets

Wiki links in shared notes appear as text, not clickable links. Viewers cannot navigate to your other notes.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select Sharing
  3. See all notes you’ve shared
  1. Open the shared note
  2. Click Share
  3. Toggle Public sharing off

Or from Settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Sharing
  2. Find the note
  3. Click Revoke

The link immediately stops working.

When you edit a shared note:

  • Changes appear immediately
  • The link stays the same
  • No action needed
  • Links are unguessable (random tokens)
  • But anyone with the link can view
  • Don’t share links in public forums unless intended
  • View the note (read-only)
  • Copy content
  • Cannot edit, comment, or access other notes

Encrypted notes cannot be shared publicly. Decrypt first if you want to share.

Share how-to guides or documentation with colleagues or customers.

Share blog posts or articles before publishing elsewhere.

Share a spec or plan with external collaborators.

Faster than exporting and emailing a document.

Always review content before sharing:

  • Remove sensitive information
  • Check that wiki links to private notes aren’t revealing
  • Ensure the note is complete
